From global agencies to world famous brands. And now, workshops for you.
Hi, I'm Jeff Olson.
I bring the following experiences and expertise to our workshops:
✔ Led corporate communications for Rite Aid, a retail pharmacy and Fortune 150 company, during COVID-19 pandemic and company transformation. I modernized the communications strategy, evolved and grew the team, overhauled and relaunched the enterprise purpose and values, improved the crisis & issues approach, and led all COVID-related communications efforts during the pandemic.
In three months, we improved "clarity of direction of organization" by 20% during height of the pandemic.

✔ While an Executive Vice President at Olson Engage (now ICF Next), drove the strategy that led to 25% revenue growth. The agency was named PR Week’s Mid-Size Agency of the Year in 2017, and Holmes Report Consumer Agency of the Year as well. Served as the lead brand reputation and corporate communications counselor, which included building the 2020 Vision with the Board of Directors, CEO and C-suite and an international organization.
✔ Served as strategy and communications lead for McDonald’s West Division, consisting of 4,400+ restaurants and 220,000+ employees. Also led a global brand reputation team. Highlights included decreasing turnover and improving employee pride in the brand by developing a new employee image and education campaign. Also created a division-wide plan that led US system KPI's for three consecutive years, including a 5% increase in sales.
✔ Held role of Vice President at Golin, and led a large portion of the McDonald's account. Orchestrated agency win of multi-million dollar Olympics account at McDonald's. Also led initiatives for Levi Strauss and SC Johnson. Mentored by Al Golin, the man that literally wrote the book on brand trust.
✔ Promoted four times in four years at international PR agency, FleishmanHillard. Was a finalist for PR Week's Young Professional of the Year.
It's nice to be recognized

Did you say start-ups?
Yes, I did. Thanks for noticing.
I fell into a rabbit hole on web3 technologies and became fascinated with the new infrastructure for the internet. Digital ownership rights, digital twins and smart contracts led me to:
✔ Start a company that was accepted into an accelerator program.
✔ Advise multiple Web3 organizations.
✔ Gain a MIT certificate in cryptocurrency.
I had hundreds of conversations with start-up founders, which ultimately turned into communications strategy sessions. Lo and behold, getting teams rowing in the same direction is a need.
I've found workshops to start a strategy or to level up communications helps emerging organizations just as much as established companies.
Where does the name Sense & Color come from?
I love live music, and lyrics often move me. The quote below has stuck with me through the years.
And now, there's a work purpose: in our workshops, we bring sense to your communications, and add color to inspire.
